The library

The Raising Girls Reading Library

Short, Bible-based books that help girls aged 3 to 17 grow in character, one real-life issue at a time.

A note from Irene

My dear parent, let me tell you something I have seen again and again. The long holiday can either drift away in screens and sleeping late, or it can become the season your daughter quietly grows into a stronger, kinder, wiser girl. And you see, the difference is rarely a big event. It is usually one good book, read slowly, talked about at the dining table, and practised the next morning.

That is why we built the Raising Girls Digital Library. Every book here takes one thing girls actually struggle with, the talking back, the comparing, the friendship wahala, the starting well and giving up, and walks her through it with stories she will recognise from home, school, church and the market. We don't shame her. We show her what is going on, what God says about it, and what to build instead.

Each title is written for her age, so a five-year-old and a fifteen-year-old can read the "same" book and each meet it at her own level. Pick the ones your daughter needs most this season, and let's grow together.

Respectfully, Irene Bangwell

How the books are built. Every title follows the K-S-C-T-E model. She learns what to Know, the Skills to practise, the Convictions to hold, the Triggers to watch for, and the Enablers, the people and habits that help her win.

This is where it all began. Eleven series that tackle the everyday things every home deals with, from how she talks to how she prays, each one written separately for every age.

Ages 3–17

Summer of Self-Esteem

What better book for the holiday? Your daughter follows a girl's summer diary as she discovers who she really is, quiets the inner critic, learns to protect herself, and comes out settled in the truth that she is enough. Along the way she builds her own Evidence File, real proof of who God made her to be, so that the next unkind word doesn't knock her over.

Ages 3–17

Hey Lulu

Friendships get complicated so quickly, don't they? In this series your daughter becomes Lulu, the gardener of her own garden, deciding who comes through her gate. She learns which friends fill her and which ones drain her, what that tummy feeling is telling her, and the Five Questions she can carry into any group, at any age.

Ages 3–17

Don't Talk Like That. Talk Like This!

Words can build a home or break it. This series teaches her to say things that make people feel good and things people can trust: how she talks to herself, about others, to grown-ups, and when her feelings are big. And when she gets it wrong, she learns how to repair it with a real apology, not just a sound to end the argument.

Ages 3–17

Culture of Honor

Honour is not only for greeting elders properly, although that matters too. This series helps your daughter carry honour as who she is, at home, in school, with her friends and before God. She learns what honour looks like in real situations, and why a girl who honours others is a girl others can trust.

Ages 3–17

Indiscipline Is

The snooze champion, the last-minute maestro, the girl who only obeys when someone is watching. We have all met her, and sometimes we have been her. This series names the everyday habits that quietly shape who a girl becomes, and helps her see that she is choosing them, which means she can choose differently.

Ages 3–17

Contentment Is

From a sister's toy to a classmate's phone, the battle with wanting always starts small. This series shows her, story by story, what contentment actually looks like in the moment. She learns that contentment is not waiting to feel satisfied; it is a practice she chooses, one grateful moment at a time.

Ages 3–17

Double Dees: Discernment & Discretion

Two big words for two very important skills: seeing people and situations clearly, and knowing what to do with what she has been told. Using three simple shapes, the Straight Line, the Triangle and the Circle, she learns who to share what with, and why her words travel further than she thinks.

Ages 3–17

Prayer Pocket Book for Girls

A small book for a big habit. From "Jesus Is With Me" for our little ones to honest conversations with Jesus about pressure, failure and direction for our teenagers, this book teaches her to bring her real life to God in prayer, and to anchor her heart in His promises.

Ages 9–17

Whoops, I Have a Crush

Feelings will come, and pretending they don't only drives them underground. This series helps her understand what is happening in her heart and body without shame, and then gives her the honest truth: this is not the season, here is why, and here is what to build instead. A feeling is information, not instruction.

Back 2 School — For You

The perfect book for the last weeks of the holiday. It helps her start the new term strong, with simple habits like packing her bag the night before, putting homework first, and switching off screens before bed. Most of all, it helps her see that she is not a passenger in her own school life; she is the driver.

Junior and Senior editions

Stay Safe Everywhere

Every girl needs to know that her body is hers and that she can always tell a trusted adult. This series gives her clear, age-appropriate body-safety rules for home, school, online and everywhere in between. We recommend reading it together, so she knows you are the safe person she can run to.

You are not reading alone

Every title in Digital Libraries 2 and 3 comes with a Parent Companion, written just for you. It tells you what your daughter is reading, the conversations to start at the dining table, what to watch for, and how to help her practise what she is learning when the book is closed. Because, you see, a book can open a door, but it is you who walks through it with her.

From a parent · after reading Hey Lulu
Yesterday, I was going through Princess O.'s school books. I saw something she didn't get right (a mistake), then she told me she was initially marked right. While correction was going on, she noted her mistake and of course her teacher as well. A classmate told her to simply erase and rewrite it but she said, I remembered Lulu's five questions. Then, insisted her teacher to mark her wrong as she made a mistake.

"Oh my God! Princess Irene, I can't describe how I still feel — thank you."
